Fall '08 ~ Publishing Software ~ Herland Final Design
Samples of my full title page, chapter opener, and final cover. The fonts I chose were Brioso Pro for the body and Tagettes for the display font. This also began my second love affair ~ with DaFont.
JP is an editing & design freelance press dedicated to helping authors with the publishing process from acquisition to printing and everything in between.
About the Publisher
If Jules had known Graphic Design was an available major, she would have a degree in that. Instead, she has her BA in English from the University of Idaho, and she is currently working on her MS in Writing with an emphasis in Book Publishing at Portland State University.
I've always loved my mom's pet name for me ~ Jezebel. So that's what I've decided to name my fledgling press. This site is dedicated to displaying the work of Jezebel Press, a (for-now) graduate-student press created to display work done for Portland State's book publishing program. Some projects have included editing, book interior design, book cover design, help with publishing processes, etc. Check me out for all things publishing as I've run the gamut from beginning to end (as in taken classes from writing a book proposal to developmental editing to book design to printing).
I owe a lot of this work to the wonderful photo site Stock.Xchng. Since most of the work was done for class I didn't worry about attribution because it was private. And now, obviously, it has gone public. If anyone stumbles across one of their photos and wishes to have it attributed, please email me and it will be done. I thank all of the great photogs on that website who provide high-quality images free of charge.
